Who we are and why we do this

We bring deep experience in the sector and understand that nonprofits deserve data that works as hard as they do. We believe data can be a powerful asset for nonprofits and their communities.

We're not your typical consultancy

We operate as a nonprofit, reinvesting revenue into tools and resources that strengthen the sector. When you work with us, you help build data capacity for other nonprofits, too.

Why We Do This Work

Nonprofits collect a lot of information, but unlike other sectors, many organizations don't have the resources to turn that data into action.

And in a sector where much of that data includes personal information, this isn't just an efficiency problem — it's an issue of responsibility. Good data stewardship means collecting information with purpose and making sure it doesn't sit unused.

What happens when we don't use the data we already have? We miss opportunities to improve programs, make smarter decisions, and show impact.

We tackle this challenge on two levels:

Support for Organizations

We work directly with nonprofits and charities that:

  • Don't have the internal resources to meet their data needs
  • Want to grow their data capacity
  • Occasionally need extra people power for data projects

We do not require a minimum project size and we offer flexible engagements on a project, fractional, or hourly basis.

Work With Us! Let's talk about how we can help your organization harness data.

Support for the Sector

Consulting alone won't build sector-wide data maturity. That's why we invest in public benefit initiatives — like the Nonprofit Data Network and CensusAggregator — and we're cooking up more tools to help the sector thrive.

How We Do This Work

We know that people have different experiences working with data. Some clients are deeply technical; others are experts in programs or strategy and may feel less sure about the data side of things. Our approach begins with meeting you where you are, explaining things clearly, and guiding your understanding without jargon or assumptions. We believe data should feel empowering, not intimidating.

Once we understand your goals, we mostly use code‑based tools to do the work. Not because we expect you to know or care about the code, but because it makes things more efficient, transparent, and easier to improve over time. It means we can revise quickly, automate repetitive tasks, and keep a clear record of every step. Change your mind about something? We can roll back to an earlier version — no drama, no lost work.

While we are working with you, we share progress early and often so you can see how things are taking shape and give feedback throughout. Nothing is built out of sight so that there are no surprises at the end. In this way, the project can evolve as we go and the final product reflects what you need, not just what you asked for at the start. Our goal is to leave you with something that is clear, useful, and built to grow with your organization.
